I am 12 weeks along, and still getting nausea throughout the day. I know all about what foods to avoid during pregnancy, and about healthy eating etc. What I was wondering is what type of meals are appealing to you when you are pregnant? I am running out of options that I find edible, I have been put off most meals that I used to eat, so need some new inspiration for dinnertime!

Answer
In the first trimester just worry about eating what you can - the vast majority of women find the nausea and vomiting improves greatly or completely disappears in the second trimester (so sometime between 12-14 weeks).

For me, first trimester left me nauseous enough that I would skip most real meals and just be constantly grazing on crackers or toast. In this pregnancy for some reason starches helped settle my stomach. Last pregnancy it was apples. Just make sure to take your prenatal vitamin and eat the best you can, but try not to sweat too much about it just yet - you'll be better soon and able to return to most of your normal balanced meals soon.

what foods should be avoided during pregnancy, and which ones should pregnant women be eating more of?

Answer
During pregnancy you should eat as natural as possible.Avoid unpasteurized foods like Mayo, soft cheese, honey, etc. Also avoid raw foods like eggs, fish, sushi, rare steaks, etc. Wash your fruits and vegetables really well.
