can you have low levels of hcg and still be pregnant?

Priscilla

i have not had a menstrual cycle since june 30 2007. i have taken over 6 pregnancy tests and all have came back negative. however, i am having all the signs of pregnancy, the wierd food cravings, the nausea, the mask of pregnancy and sore breast. is it possible to have low hcg levels and be pregnant. i am not under any major stress that would stop my cycle for this long and this is the longest i have ever went without a cycle in over 2 years. i am 33 years old. thanks for your answers.

Answer
yes. any hcg levels (if you've never been preg) is a sign. Anything over 10 is considered pos.

If your levels are lower than what it should be for how far along you might be can be a bad sign though.

the dr. can do a blood hcg to be exact.

how long does it take until you start to experience pregnancy symptoms ?

how long into the pregnancy does it take to experience the first symptoms? and what are those first few symptoms?

Answer
it varies so much from person to person

with my first, the only symptom i had was that i was repulsed by my favorite foods and drinks ... other than that - nothing until i was about 4 months

with my second, i was extremely exhausted and i vomited constantly! i was sick for 13 weeks!

the usual symptoms are breast/nipple tenderness, nausea when you have an empty stomach, bloating ... i'm sure there are more, but like i said - it varies from person to person (and truly, from pregnancy to pregnancy!)
