Breast question during pregnancy..?

Kempa

I am 13 weeks 4 days pregnant and notice that my breasts leak a clear liquid kinda stretchy i guess, what is it???? this is my first pregnancy so not sure what to expect. Is it normal!
Kinda weird it started today.. i had dreams last night about me breastfeeding lol

Answer
Congratulations!! The strange leakage from your breasts is perfectly normal and called colostrum. You will continue to notice this until approximately 24-72 hours after you deliver your baby, at which point your hormones tell your body to release breast milk in its place.

Colostrum is extremely high in vital nutrients and vitamins the baby will need and after your baby is born this is the very best source of food.

You may want to note that most likely you will notice an increase in the amount that leaks from your breasts and you may need or want to wear nursing pads to prevent your bed sheets from getting soaked every night.

Breast Feeding....?

Q. Ok so w/ my son breast feeding was uneventful. So now that i'm pregnant w/ my second child i want to try again is there a way of knowing if you'll be able to breast feed or is there something u can do to help instagate it into happening some home remedy or whatnot? Legit answer's only please.

In Belgium they give the woman a pitcher of beer. Apparently the barley encourages milk production and the beer (obviously) relaxes the mother.

Some home remedies include-
-more frequent feedings, even if of short duration, will help increase the flow of milk.
-Herbs considered helpful are fennel, milk thistle, fenugreek, dill, raspberry leaves (also GREAT during pregnancy and to prepare for childbirth - I highly recommend this, I drink a tea of it a couple times every day as it strengthens the uterus), blessed thistle, stinging nettles, false unicorn root, and cinnamon. Add any or all to your daily diet - either in food or as a tea. Avoid them when you start weaning.
-a thick lentil soup before bed increases milk.
-"Some women say that a bottle of stout beer at the end of the day helps relax them and maintain their milk supply. Stouts often contribute some iron, but be mindful of the alcohol content. If you do choose this remedy, you might do well to drink your stout just after breast-feeding so that the alcohol in your system has time to dissipate before the next feeding."
-To bring in good, rich milk - chlorophyll (found in wheat grass juice), alfalfa, marshmallow (not the sugary campfire kind) can sustain the baby longer and help him sleep through the night at an earlier age.

I know that's a lot of information, there. I'd advise you to take a list of a few of these to a local nutrition/herb shop, and ask the clerk there to help you out on how to prepare them correctly. I can't advise any of them more than red raspberry leaves, though. And since you're still pregnant, I'd say start drinking raspberry leaf tea NOW. It's perfect for pregnant and nursing women.

Good luck!
